In 2008, the PHOENIX Dichtungstechnik GmbH (PDT Group) demerged from the Continental Group through a management-buy-out to further continue the rich history of manufacturing high-quality technical elastomer products at the German locations in Hamburg and Waltershausen. The managing partners Jürgen Werner and Gregor Ellegast have been involved with the company for many years, and ensured not only the on-going development of the PDT Group in their new independent role but above developed and implemented a forward-looking, promising strategy which further established PDT as a leading manufacturer of unique premium products on the international stage.

With its workforce of 110 employees and an annual turnover of approx. €55 million PDT clearly concentrates on its core competencies that have been developed over decades. The production facilities and offices are located in Hamburg and Waltershausen (Thuringia) with branches in England and the Netherlands. By focusing on one business unit and enhancing the core business, a highly flexible and immediate decision-making, efficient processes and production of state-of-the-art products are guaranteed as well as providing the clients with comprehensive solutions that optimally solve every day challenges.

The business area Waterproofing stands for excellence in waterproofing membranes for roofs and facades with more than 35 years of experience. With the comprehensive and well-proven range of RESITRIX® membranes the company offers a unique product with unequalled superior material properties which put it amongst the best on the market. RESITRIX® is the only waterproofing membrane guaranteeing safe, simple and rapid installation whilst at the same time being sealed for a lifetime. With tens of millions of square metres already successfully installed worldwide RESITRIX® has proved itself as the most reliable and durable material solution for every type of flat roof project.

In 2011, another new exciting era in the history of PDT began, as together with Carlisle Companies Inc., has reached an agreement which will see the two companies work as one to further develop the already fast growing PDT brands. The two companies will now face the future and new challenges together in order to further continue the rich history of the PDT.

This constellation will certainly offer multiple and interesting opportunities and promising synergies for both companies.
