A new chapter in the successful history of the PDT Group begins: In July 2011 it has been entered into a definitive agreement between the management of the PDT Group and Carlisle Companies Inc., USA, to face the future and new challenges together in order to further continue the rich and traditional history of the PDT Group and beyond, to open up new perspectives.
PDT is clearly focussing on two business units enhancing efficient business and combining expert knowledge and tradition with innovation. The PDT Waterproofing division is dedicated to design, manufacture and market premium roofing products serving the market for single-ply roofing and waterproofing membrane solutions. With the Profiles division, PDT is also a leading manufacturer of elastomer profiles for use in applications for tunnels, rail, windows and facades. The production facilities and offices are located in Hamburg and Waltershausen with branches in England, Belgium, the Netherlands and France and partners in most European countries and beyond.
Carlisle Companies Inc. is a global diversified company that through their group of decentralized operating companies led by entrepreneurial management teams is in the position to offer innovative product solutions to solve the challenges their customers face. With an annual turnover of $ 2.5 billion in 2010 and more than 11,000 employees worldwide, Carlisle is operating in a variety of industries, whereas 45% of its sales were generated in the construction industry.
Accordingly, the merger of the companies appears to be not only consistent but a perfect match. Additionally, the acquisition of the PDT Group provides Carlisle with an important manufacturing and sales distribution foothold in Europe for its wide range of products especially in the Carlisle Construction Materials segment and energy efficient roofing solutions.
